What is Ground Control?
...and why can't I download it now?
Ground Control is an idea for an app that was submitted by Russell Heistuman to MyDreamApp during the summer of 2006. It was one of 24 ideas picked out of over 2700 submissions. Ground Control went pretty far—it made it down to the final 9. In a very heated race, three were finally chosen to be developed by the MyDreamApp developers and are still in development now.

However, Ground Control, while out of the MDA contest, had built quite a loyal following and they knew this app idea had to get developed. Originally created for the contest, this site is now dedicated to keep that dream alive. Steve Streza is the lead developer and preliminary work on Ground Control has begun. We have been posting updates as well as all-around Ground Control banter over in the GC Forums, so be sure to check it out for the latest news as well as get the chance to ask questions or put in your feedback.

So, unfortunately, if you've come to this site looking to download a finished application, get used to disappointment—it won't be here for awhile. But feel free to subscribe to our RSS feed for the Blog and that way you'll be notified of any breaking news regarding Ground Control development.
